With a track record of more than 60 years as support service company in the mining industry, we at Record Engineering ensure that we always deliver more than expected.

Record Engineering Sales was founded in 1973 and is market focused and a leading supplier of engineering solutions and mining supplies in South Africa.

Over the years, Record Engineering has not only grown substantially but evolved into a key player in the mining sector becoming a preferred supplier to numerous Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and large mining operations.

Record Project Engineering offers both plant and mobile mining equipment engineering solutions that supply the required operational reliability and cost efficiencies required within the mining and related industrial sectors.

Record Engineering is an agile company that can adapt to our customers changing and challenging needs. Our team fosters a culture of discipline, personal responsibility and a “can do” mind-set to ensure that we execute our work in the best way. A brief history of Record Engineering

1959
Record Engineering was established and initially concentrating on general repairs and reconditioning of equipment used on the mines.

1973
Record Engineering Sales was founded and is market focused and a leading supplier of engineering solutions and mining supplies in South Africa. Established a branch in Kimberly.
1973
1976
Griqua stone crushers was acquired by the group. Record was one of the first companies in the Northern Cape to make tip-up doors. The business soon started expanding and took over Northern Cape Stone Crushers (now Record Stone Crushers) and shortly afterwards Record Crane and Plant Hire was formed.

1990
To develop the electronic side of the business, Control Instruments in Bloemfontein was acquired, which dealt with satellite tracking, on-board computers on big fleets as well as access control systems.
1990
2009
The company made a strategic shift to what it was supplying to the mines. Project management was the next step for the company as well as doing mechanical projects such as mining equipment refurbishment, rebuild, manufacturing, mechanical and repairs.

Introducing project management, mechanical repair and refurbishment projects. Establish a branch in Kathu.
